White House press corps takes its mess outside

Robert Gibbs decided to brief in the Rose Garden today (reuters photo)

It was beautiful outside, the press corps was uncommonly pasty after its long, winter slumber and the chairs were already set up from an earlier President Obama event. So it seemed like a good idea.

If the White House hoped that exposing the press corps to sunlight and budding magnolias would ease the acrid tone of health care questioning, they definitely miscalculated.

For his part, Gibbs — also pale of pallor — said he applied SPF 30 three times before emerging from his office.

Still, it’s always nice to be in the Rose Garden.     (ap photo)

And Beltway now has a nice patch of color on the left side of her face.
