During his speech at the Values Voters Summit in Washington DC today, former Reagan administration official and respected social conservative Bill Bennett sharply criticized Southern Baptist pastor Robert Jeffress for his comments about Mitt Romney’s faith.
“Do not give voice to bigotry.” Bennett entreated the audience, and added, “I’m thinking of the words of Mr. Jeffress, Pastor Jeffress, you stepped on and obscured the words of Perry and Santorum and Cain and Bachmann and everyone else who has spoken here. You did Rick Perry no good sir, in what you had to say.”
