Mitt Romney is not going to attend Sen. Jim DeMint’s presidential forum in South Carolina on Labor Day weekend according to a campaign spokesman.
That leaves Ron Paul, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry to face tough questions from DeMint’s team. Romney will be campaigning in New Hampshire instead.
DeMint is often described in the mainstream media as a “Conservative Kingmaker.” He had great success with his favored candidates for Senate in 2010 although his endorsement of Mitt Romney in 2008 failed to help the candidate.
According to the release, candidates attending the forum will be featured on stage one-at-a-time and will engage in a question and answer session with three panelists: DeMint (R-SC), U.S. Representative Steve King (R-IA), and Dr. Robert P. George, founder of the American Principles Project.
