DES MOINES, Iowa — Not to be outdone, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann announced Thursday that she plans to attend the same dinner in Iowa this weekend that Texas Gov. Rick Perry is scheduled to visit.
The Iowa frontrunner will join Perry — who is expected to announce his candidacy in the coming week —and the Black Hawk County GOP for their Lincoln Day Dinner in Waterloo, Iowa on Sunday evening.
Bachmann, who has the most to lose if Perry jumps in the presidential race, was born in Waterloo, and spent part of her childhood there.
