When asked by MSNBC’s Chuck Todd this morning about whether he supported his former Republican colleague for President, Former Senator Arlen Specter said he would not support Rick Santorum for President.
“No, I would not,” said Specter, adding that his support for Santorum in the past was based on his party seniority and what they did as a team.

Specter added that Santorum was too extreme to be president.
“Where you have Senator Santorum’s views so far to the right, his attitude on women in the work place and gays and the bestiality comments and birth control, I do not think it is realistic for Rick Santorum to represent America,” he said.
Specter said never promised Santorum that he would support President Bush’s judges prior in order to solidify his colleague’s endorsement, an assertion made by Santorum on the trail.
