I have written before on the plight of my native city of Detroit. Can anything be done?
Blogger Aaron Renn has some answers. On Joel Kotkin’s New Geography blog Renn has a persuasive critique of the Brookings Institution proposals for Detroit and presents his own proposals for revitalizing the ailing metro area. One suggestion: make more of Detroit’s big airport; the McNamara Terminal there, opened a few years ago, is my candidate for the nicest airport terminal in the nation.
