The ceasefire between Israel and Gaza offers a helpful reminder of Hamas’s underhanded tactics.
As part of the ceasefire agreement, Hamas is to return the remains of Israeli hostages who were killed in Hamas captivity. Hamas has been slow-rolling this process, claiming that some bodies are buried in the rubble of tunnels that were destroyed by Israel. Hamas is currently using heavy machinery to dig down and find those bodies in the streets of civilian areas.

That is because Hamas’s terrorist tunnels wind underneath civilian areas. Hamas does this to discourage Israeli strikes on those tunnels and to turn it into global propaganda when Israel attacks the tunnels. It is a deliberate decision by Hamas to use Palestinian civilians as human shields, including using their homes and other buildings to mask the terrorist tunnels they use to move more freely, imprison hostages, and hoard supplies.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority says that Hamas has continued to use schools and hospitals for its terrorist operations. Even Palestinian media figures are reporting that Hamas is using hospitals, such as Al Aqsa and Nasser, to imprison and interrogate Palestinian dissidents as the terrorist group tries to reassert its control over Gaza.

This is because Hamas has always used civilian infrastructure as part of its terrorist operations. This serves the same purposes as the tunnels under civilian streets: Hamas tries to discourage Israeli strikes by operating from a hospital, then turns around and cries to the world if Israel launches any sort of operation against the hospital that serves as a front for its terrorist operations. Just two months ago, Israel was globally condemned by fools who fall for Palestinian propaganda after a strike on the Nasser hospital.
This is what Hamas does. This is what it has done over the past two years. Hamas knowingly and deliberately puts Palestinian civilians in harm’s way, hoping that it will make Israel think twice about attacking or that Israeli military actions will kill civilians so Hamas can parade their corpses as part of its global propaganda campaign. Meanwhile, Hamas is executing Palestinians in the streets to maintain its grip on power because Hamas is a terrorist organization with no regard for human life. It views Palestinian civilians as useless if they can’t be used in propaganda against Israel.
