Perry: Obama downgrading our future

Here are a few snippets, taken on the fly. He’s still speaking as I post this.

There’s a lot of red meat in here:

As Americans, we realize that there is no taxpayer money that wasn’t first earned by the sweat and toil of one of our citizens. That’s why we reject this president’s unbridled fixation on taking more money out of the wallets and pocketbooks…Spreading the wealth punishes success….
Of course, now we’re told we’re in recovery. But this sure doesn’t feel like a recovery to more than 9 percent of Americans who are unemployed, or 16 percent of African Americans, or 11 percent of Hispanics in the same situation….
This president and his big government policies prolonged our national misery, not alleviated it….The first step to getting America working is to give a pink slip to the current resident of the White House….
“I will work every day to make Washington, D.C. as inconsequential in your lives as I can.”

On the debt ceiling fight:

The president even refused to lay out a plan, for fear of the next election….We cannot afford four more years of this rudderless leadership….“The fact is for nearly three years, President Obama has been downgrading American jobs, downgrading our standing in the world, downgrading our financial stability, downgrading confidence, and downgrading the hope of a better future for our children.”

On foreign policy, with a specific reference to Israel:

Our president has insulted our friends and he’s encouraged our enemies…His foreign policy seems to be based on alienating our traditional allies…We don’t need a president who apologizes for America…
