Fans of the New England Patriots and New York Giants have “a role to play” in averting the possibility of a terrorist attack on the Super Bowl, according Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano, who announced an “If you see something, say something” partnership with the National Football League.

“At a major national event like the Super Bowl, security is a shared responsibility and everybody has a role to play in identifying and reporting suspicious activities and threats,” Napolitano, who “toured the security operations” for the Super Bowl,  said in a statement today. “Our partnership with the NFL on the “If You See Something, Say Something™” public awareness campaign during the Super Bowl is a critical part of our efforts to ensure the safety of every employee, player and fan.”
