After celebrating the working class at his visit to a Master Lock manufacturing plant in Wisconsin yesterday, President Obama flew to Los Angeles, California for a series of five fundraisers in the state in two days.
Last night, Obama attended two luxurious fundraisers at the home of he home of Bradley and Colleen Bell, the soap opera producer of “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
“Obviously I want to, first of all, thank the Bell family, Colleen and Brad, for opening up this spectacular venue and for being such incredible friends,” Obama remarked during the evening.
Colleen Bell is among Obama’s fundraising bundlers, contributing 374,550 according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
According to a copy of an invitation obtained by the Hollywood Reporter, Actor Will Ferrell and his wife co-hosted the evening event, a dinner which cost $35,800-per-person.
Actor George Clooney was also spotted in attendance, according to the White House pool report which described the home as “a giant estate with many structures and expansive grounds,” including a room with, “20 foot tall ceilings and a swimming pool.”
Speaking to the wealthy group, Obama reminded them about fairness between Wall Street and Main Street.
“We don’t have one set of rules for kids who are born into wealthy neighborhoods and another set of rules for kids that are born into poor neighborhoods,” he said, “We expect everybody is showing responsibility and everybody is acting in accordance with some of our deepest-held values.”
Another fundraiser was held at the Bell’s estate earlier in the evening, which included a performance from the Foo Figthers, a Grammy award winning rock band. “They were tired of winning so many awards,” Obama joked during his remarks, “So they said, ‘let’s do something else tonight.’ We are so grateful to them.”
The event also featured speeches from actors Rashida Jones and Jack Black.
President Obama is expected to attend three more fundraisers in California today.
