Christine O’Donnell comes asking for dollars

You remember Christine O’Donnell — you know, “I am not a witch,” and all that? O’Donnell provided us in 2010 with the valuable lesson that the quality of candidates really does matter, and that it’s not enough just to hold correct viewpoints.

I just received this fundraising solicitation from her new PAC:

You’ve probably heard about the latest smear on me. The establishment is going to keep attacking and keep trying to destroy those they think might be a threat.
They won’t let up.
The Left keeps after me because they consider strong, Republican women a danger to their status quo.

Now, it’s entirely possible that I’ve missed something, but I have not heard anything about a “latest smear” against O’Donnell, and I have no idea what this new “smear” is or whether it even exists. She does not relate what it is.

But this solicitation, an extension of the paranoia and self-victimization of her 2010 Senate campaign, is a template that I hope future conservative candidates leave on the cutting-room floor. I can’t imagine it’s going to raise a lot of money.
