The Trump-Pence campaign has set a $7 million fundraising goal for Tuesday, the day President Trump is traveling to Orlando, Fla., to officially announce his reelection bid.
In a fundraising memo to supporters, he wrote, “I want to do something so HUGE to launch 2020, even Democrats and the Fake News won’t be able to ignore. We need to raise $7,000,000 by 11:59 PM TONIGHT.”
Officials said the record amount sought on ‘Day One’ of the Trump reelection bid is also meant to overshadow the huge amounts three Democrats collected on the first day of their campaign.

According to reports, former Vice President Joe Biden raised $6.3 million on his first day, Beto O’Rourke took in $6.1 million, and Sen. Bernie Sanders brought in $5.9 million.
Trump campaign officials said they are confident that the president’s team will collect the $7 million, noting the attention his Orlando rally is already getting.
Campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh, for example, has been tweeting photos of the big crowds already gathering at the Amway Center, the site of the Trump rally.
“Just an incredible scene building in Orlando. Not even 9:00 AM and thousands already gathered ahead of @realDonaldTrump rally tonight,” he wrote in one tweet.
Trump’s fundraising email said that those who donate today will be named an “Official 2020 Trump Presidential Founder.” And, he added, “After my speech, my team will print me off a list of everyone who contributed to become an Official 2020 Trump Presidential Founder.”
