Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth sent a message to NATO’s European members on Wednesday that the United States is not “primarily focused on the security of Europe.”
Hegseth offered a couple of minutes of opening remarks ahead of Wednesday’s Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Belgium, the first he has attended since assuming the role of secretary of defense. The remarks shed light on the Trump administration’s intentions toward the NATO alliance.
