The Senate voted on Tuesday to confirm Daniel Driscoll to serve as the next secretary of the Army, marking the first of President Donald Trump’s military service secretary positions to be filled.

Driscoll, who was confirmed in a 66-28 vote, is a third-generation soldier, following in the footsteps of his father, a Vietnam War veteran, and his grandfather, who was a decoder during World War II. Prior to his nomination, he most recently served as a senior adviser to Vice President JD Vance.
