The United States launched a large wave of attacks against Iran after two U.S. soldiers were killed in Jordan, including strikes targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps units that launched the deadly attack.

The bombardment marked the eighth consecutive night of heavy U.S. strikes against Iran, which began after Iran launched new attacks against merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, pushing President Donald Trump to declare the U.S.-Iran Memorandum of Understanding “over.” The strikes concluded at 11:30 p.m. ET, according to U.S. Central Command, and targeted Iranian “military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites to continue degrading Iranian military capabilities.”
