Trump gives Democrats opening to regain voter trust on the economy

Democrats are hoping to regain voters’ trust on the economy as President Donald Trump’s second term becomes weighed down by weeks of market uncertainty.

Democrats have begun to focus more intently on the economic turmoil surrounding Trump as his tariffs upend the stock and bond markets, with the Dow Jones on track to register the worst April since the Great Depression.
