A student at a D.C. Public Schools elementary school was “inappropriately touched” by an adult who entered the building Wednesday, school officials say.
The Ketchman Elementary student alerted a school official after a man reportedly entered the Southeast school without permission.
The suspect is not a teacher and is not believed to be a school employee, said Melissa Salmanowitz, spokeswoman for Chancellor Kaya Henderson. All students are safe, she said.
“We are working with MPD and reviewing our security measures to ensure we have the best protocols in place to prevent further breach of our school building by unauthorized individuals,” Salmanowitz said.
