A middle school in Woodbridge was evacuated around 11 a.m. on Friday because of a gas leak.
Fred Lynn Middle School’s staff and 928 students sought shelter at a neighborhood church, where Prince William County Public Schools officials were planning to provide lunch.
The fire department was on the scene Friday, while school officials said the gas company was also on the way.
As of noon Friday, there was no word as to the extent of the risk the gas leak imposed.
