Necklaces disappear from Northwest D.C. elementary school auction

Two necklaces are missing after an auction to benefit Murch Elementary School in Northwest D.C.

The auction’s co-chairmen describe the vanished pieces as a “crackled quartz” necklace and an amethyst necklace, and are hoping that someone took the jewlery home by accident.

“It would help us if you could check the items you collected on auction night to see if somehow either of the items ended up in the wrong spot,” Kirsten Anderson and Courtney Bergeron wrote on Murch’s blog on Monday.

The auction was held on March 17 at the Washington Hebrew Congregation on Macomb Street, and winnings included gift certificates, books and art.

Anyone with information about the necklaces is encouraged to email Anderson or Bergeron.
