JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A measure that would impose stricter evaluations for teachers advanced from a Missouri House committee that defeated the measure last week.

The House Fiscal Review Committee cleared the bill for debate Monday after Republican House Speaker Tim Jones removed two Republicans who joined with Democrats to block the measure last week. Jones named two other Republicans to the panel who voted in favor of advancing the measure Monday.
