Calvert Cliffs nuclear reactor shuts down

LUSBY, Md. (AP) — Officials for the Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant say one of its two reactors shut down during electrical breaker testing.

Spokesman Kory Raftery says Unit 1 at the plant in Lusby shut down automatically about 10:15 a.m. Thursday. He says all safety systems responded as designed and the unit came off line as expected.
