Wintry showers continued to fall over Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, closing down federal government offices and schools and giving some workers and students a four-day weekend.

Telework and remote employees are expected to work, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management said. Federal government departments were closed on Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
