Tornadoes mixed with heavy rainfall and flooding resulted in 15 deaths across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kentucky this weekend.
One tornado began in northern Texas on Saturday night. Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) confirmed Sunday that seven people had died due to storm-related causes. Cooke County Sheriff Ray Sappington added that there were about 20 injured people, including three people trapped in the wreckage of their home. Abbott subsequently expanded a disaster proclamation to the affected county along with Denton County.
