The Governator on climate change: ‘I don’t give a **** if we agree’

The Governator doesn’t give a … rip if you disagree with him on climate change.

In a post to his Facebook page Monday, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former Republican governor of California, wrote a note to climate change doubters with the not-so-subtle title “I don’t give a **** if we agree about climate change.”

The rest of the post was a little bit more gentle than the title would indicate, with the Terminator posing several questions to climate change doubters. He even let them assume climate change isn’t real for the purpose of his hypotheticals.

“Do you believe it is acceptable that 7 million people die every year from pollution? That’s more than murders, suicides and car accidents – combined,” he wrote.

The “Kindergarten Cop” star then asked what climate change doubters plan to do when fossil fuels run out.

“I, personally, want a plan. I don’t want to be like the last horse and buggy salesman who was holding out as cars took over the roads,” he wrote. “I don’t want to be the last investor in Blockbuster as Netflix emerged. That’s exactly what is going to happen to fossil fuels.”

Conan the Barbarian’s third question to doubters was presented as another hypothetical scenario.

He wondered which room they would stay in for an hour: a sealed room with a car inside running on gasoline or a sealed room with a car inside running on electricity.

“I’m guessing you chose the Door Number Two, with the electric car, right? Door number one is a fatal choice — who would ever want to breathe those fumes?” he said. “This is the choice the world is making right now.”

At the end of the day, Mr. Freeze is not worried about whether climate change doubters agree with him about the science around climate change.

“To use one of the four-letter words all of you commenters love, I don’t give a damn if you believe in climate change. I couldn’t care less if you’re concerned about temperatures rising or melting glaciers,” he said. “It doesn’t matter to me which of us is right about the science. I just hope that you’ll join me in opening Door Number Two, to a smarter, cleaner, healthier, more profitable energy future.”
