Arizona Republican Kari Lake is reportedly a front-runner to become the next U.S. ambassador to Mexico in the incoming Trump administration.

Lake unsuccessfully ran for governor of Arizona in 2022 before mounting a failed Senate campaign in the state this year. A Semafor report revealed Monday that she is under President-elect Donald Trump’s consideration to represent the United States in Mexico, a country that will play a pivotal role in Republicans’ plans for immigration reform.
