Tim Scott contends voters are ’embracing’ Trump’s position to let states decide on abortion

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) argued Sunday that the topic of abortion limits ought to be left up to the states, echoing previous comments made by former President Donald Trump.

Scott was asked about his ability to potentially change Trump’s mind on a national abortion ban if he were to become his vice president, a position for which Trump is rumored to be considering Scott. In response, the South Carolina senator claimed that his fellow Democratic senators voted to allow abortion up until birth, describing this stance as “amoral.”
