‘AFFORDABILITY PRESIDENT’ Trump: GOP should win midterms as drug prices falling ‘AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN’

President Donald Trump on Saturday boasted about lowering drug prices, seeking to tie his administration and Republican rule with affordability and economic prosperity.

Soon after announcing a no-fly zone over Venezuela Saturday morning, Trump said drug prices were falling across the board, a development he credited to himself and Republicans.

“Because I have invoked FAVORED NATIONS STATUS FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, DRUG PRICES ARE FALLING AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE, 500%, 600%, 700%, and more. No other President has been able to do this, BUT I HAVE! This is also the answer to much less expensive, and far better, HEALTHCARE!” he wrote in a post on Truth Social.

Healthcare is traditionally an issue on which Democrats poll better, causing some Republicans to avoid focusing on it. Trump is looking to reverse this to shore up the Republican position for the midterm elections, a point he tried to drive home with his post.

“Republicans, remember, this was done by us, and nobody else. This is a revolution in medicine, the biggest and most important event, EVER. If this story is properly told, we should win the Midterm Elections in RECORD NUMBERS. I AM THE AFFORDABILITY PRESIDENT. TALK LOUDLY AND PROUDLY!” Trump added.

TRUMP SAYS VENEZUELAN AIRSPACE NOW ‘CLOSED’

Republicans are on the defensive for the midterm elections next year, a prospect many in Congress are dreading. The party controlling the White House usually performs worse in the Midterms, and Republicans fear this effect could be magnified by the polarized nature of the country. Reforms to the healthcare system pushed by Trump’s Big, Beautiful Bill are a particularly sensitive matter to many.

The president is confident his record can withstand any scrutiny, however, including on healthcare. He began aggressively pushing a change in messaging and strategy after poor Republican results in the 2025 elections. He has pushed Republicans to focus more on affordability and to highlight his progress on the matter.
