Congress and much of the country has recently taken notice of the recent surge of unaccompanied minors crossing the United States border in recent months. However, the Washington Examiner‘s Joseph Lawler found out it may be business as usual for these border towns.

After spending a week in McAllen, Texas, along the U.S.-Mexico border, Lawler reports that local residents haven’t noticed a significant increase in the number of illegal immigrants crossing the border. Some of that is because local residents are use to illegal crossings, but many residents say they’re not noticing a difference because those captured are leaving the area so quickly.
