A Hillary Clinton speech was interrupted by immigration activists last night in New York City.
Six young activists started chanting “Undocumented! Unafraid!” after Clinton’s speech, which headlined an event benefiting advocate groups on behalf of programs and legislation to support first responders and workers affected by Sept. 11 attacks.
Several of them wore T-shirts that read “Will You Deport My Family,” according to Business Insider.
The activists were with the immigration reform advocacy group United We Dream, which is putting pressure on both Democrats and Republicans to take action.
Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, who are both considering seeking the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, have also faced ambushes by the group.
The event benefited Citizens for the Extension of the James Zadroga Act and 9/11 Health Watch, Inc.
