The number of immigrants arrested after attempting to enter the United States from Mexico has dropped to the lowest levels in more than 50 months, part of a continued decline since the White House took decisive action to deter illegal migration in June.

Approximately 47,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents at the southern border in November, down from 55,000 to 61,000 each month since June, according to Border Patrol statistics published Friday evening.
