Tweeting pictures of dogs isn’t something top Trump aides typically do, but after meeting K-9 Agent Bingo on the southern border, acting U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Ken Cuccinelli couldn’t resist.
“I love tweeting about dogs,” he said while traveling along the border. “I’ve got three,” he added.

Unlike most key Trump aides with communications and social media staffs, Cuccinelli likes to control his own Twitter handle, @USCISCuccinelli.
“I do get a kick out of it,” he said. “I’m a real human being, and it is important that people realize that they are dealing with a real human being,” he added.

As he has emerged as President Trump’s top immigration spokesman, Cuccinelli has used Twitter to praise, pressure, and comment on immigration issues. But he has never been mean or insulting.
“My goal is to be helpful,” he said. “It’s fun and neat, but it is also real,” he said of the social media platform.

His tweet about Bingo came as he was touring the Rio Grande Valley where hunting down drugs is just as important as stopping illegal crossings. I said, “Meet DHS K9 Officer Bingo. He is a very good boy.” Cuccinelli included three emojis, a dog, a U.S. flag and a police officer.
