Clinton ad flaunts resume as Sanders leads in N.H.

Hillary Clinton has released a new ad to run in Iowa and New Hampshire emphasizing her long resume as she prepares to do battle with Bernie Sanders in the early primary states.

The ad, titled “This House,” explains that the person who lives in the White House not only must solve global issues but also issues “as small as your kitchen table.” The narrator says Clinton will not let anyone privatize Social Security or Medicare or shut down Planned Parenthood. She also pledged to combat the gun lobby, ensure equal pay for women and “stop the Republicans from ripping all our progress away.”

“Her time as first lady, senator from New York and secretary of state has given her the experience, perspective and toughness that cannot be matched by any other presidential candidate,” the Clinton campaign said in a statement accompanying the release of the ad. “Considering her past accomplishments, there is no other choice.”

The ad comes as Sanders widened his lead in New Hampshire to 27 points (60 percent-33 percent) and as he also gains on the once-assumed front-runner in Iowa, trailing her by four points (46.8 percent-42.8 percent).
