Sightings: Laura Bush does her rounds around town

Former first lady Laura Bush was spotted dining with a large group in the Lafayette room of the Hay-Adams Hotel Wednesday morning, a Yeas & Nays spy reports. Bush, wearing a beige pantsuit and surrounded by lots of Secret Service, was also seen on the National Mall near where portions of the AIDS quilt are being displayed doing a television interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl. On Thursday, she will address attendees at the International AIDS Conference being held this week at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Earlier this week singer Sir Elton John also talked to conference participants and praised former President George W. Bush for his AIDS work. “We’ve seen George W. Bush and conservative American politicians pledge tens of billions to save the lives of Africans with HIV — think of all the love, think of where we’d be without it,” the singer said Monday.
