The National Press club has booked the actress to give a lunchtime discussion while she’s in town later this year to perform in the play “Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins” at Arena Stage. Turner, who is the chair of Planned Parenthood’s Board of Advocates, will discuss reproductive rights. The actress, known for ’80s hits like “Body Heat” and “Peggy Sue got Married” will appear at the Press Club on Sept. 6. This luncheon is only available to National Press Club members and their guests with tickets costing $18 and $30, respectively.
