To comedian Pauly Shore, Washington is a land of hilarious television hosts, mysterious black Republicans and lots and lots of hot women. In town since Monday filming a Showtime special called “Pauly~tics,” Shore stopped in at the Everard’s Clothing shop in Georgetown to film a scene suit shopping with former RNC Chairman Michael Steele on Wednesday morning.
“Even if I wasn’t Pauly Shore, I just think that the idea and the concept of Pauly Shore going to Washington is funny, because I’m totally a fish out of water here,” Shore told Yeas & Nays while getting his makeup applied. “I don’t know anything about Washington, I’ve been here once I think,” he continued.

The No. 1 thing the “Bio-Dome” veteran noticed? The scores of hot women. “Now I know why politicians cheat so much,” he said. “Before I was like, ‘politicians are scumbags like we know they are,’ but now I know why they cheat because the girls are so hot here in Washington — who knew?”
Shore also listed the Washingtonians who intrigued him. “I’m entertained by Michael Steele, I think he’s hysterical,” he said. And later, “it’s funny to have a black Republican.” He’s also a fan of Anderson Cooper (who’s actually based in New York) and MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, who he was trying to get to appear on his show. He also had the opportunity on Tuesday to interview Ralph Nader. As for President Obama, Shore said he’s a fan. “The one thing I really like about him is his temperament and I like the fact that he’s chilled everyone out overseas,” he said.
After Wednesday’s shoot, Shore will return to Washington on June 30 to film the remainder of “Pauly~tics” in front of a live studio audience at the 9:30 Club. Tickets for that appearance can be purchased online for $20.
