Jeb Bush endorsed Clemson over Alabama in next week’s college football title game.
Clemson University is located in the key early primary state of South Carolina. Alabama’s less-important presidential primary is on March 1, one of many contests on “Super Tuesday.”
Bush tweeted a video of himself Friday, adorned with a Clemson Tigers baseball hat and cheering with fans. The caption was, “Beat Saban!”

Nick Saban, head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, has won four national championships.
Former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina was widely derided for pandering for a similar action recently.
Carly endorsed Iowa over her own alma mater, Stanford, in a recent bowl game, only to see Iowa routed in embarrassing fashion.
Her endorsement inspired the “#CarlyCurse” Twitter hashtag, apparently brought on by disgruntled Iowa Hawkeyes fans.
Bush describes himself a fan of the University of Miami Hurricanes.
