San Francisco’s heavy hitter at the convention spoke twice Monday — once as House speaker and once in her ceremonial role as chairwoman of the convention. On Monday, Pelosi gave the Obama organization a boost by saying a roll call vote including Hillary Clinton should not be allowed to drag on after “somebody has the votes.”

As one of Barack Obama’s earliest supporters in the Senate, the Missourian was rewarded with a prime time slot on Monday. She used her opportunity to deliver a rebuke against Republican Sen. John McCain and his policies, especially in regard to taxes. The freshman senator has emerged as one of the campaign’s top surrogates on the attack.
