Scott Walker pops into House GOP meeting

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker met with Republicans in the House Wednesday morning to talk about the GOP agenda for the fall elections and his efforts to bolster the party.

“He just talked about some of the things he’s done as Wisconsin governor,” Rep. Matt Salmon, R-Ariz., said. “He shared with us some of his successes as Republican governor he was able to get through in the education realm and other places.”

Some of the members who left the conference said they were not sure why Walker was invited, but they appreciated the visit.

“It was fine,” House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said of Walker’s visit. “He was talking about what we need to do in the fall and how supportive he is of us.”

Walker tweeted about his the meeting after he left:

Walker ran for the Republican presidential nomination, but dropped out in September.
