‘Joe the Plumber’ an elected official — no, really

Wrap your wrench around this one: “Joe the Plumber” is no longer merely a campaign slogan, but a party player.

Samuel “Joe” Wurzelbacher, whom John McCain dubbed “Joe the Plumber” during the 2008 presidential campaign, won a Republican Party committee seat in northwest Ohio’s Lucas County, according to the Associated Press.

By a 38-23 vote in the Toledo precinct on Tuesday, Wurzelbacher picked up one of almost 400 seats on the local committee.
