We hear the “Today Show’s” Hoda Kotb will be the lucky gal to host this year’s Susan G. Komen Honoring the Promise gala, a black tie affair that takes place at the Kennedy Center.
Its inaugural event last year attracted celebrities like “Sex and the City’s” Cynthia Nixon, designer Tory Burch and singer Olivia Newton-John.
Kotb, a breast cancer survivor herself, is no stranger to Komen and the D.C. scene. She emceed the barbecue at Vice President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden‘s residence in June, which kicked off the annual Susan G. Komen Global Race for the cure on the National Mall.
The official announcement will come Thursday as the folks at Komen host an invite-only fete in Georgetown for young professionals in the Washington area. Komen is trying to get more young Washingtonians involved with the cause and will offer a larger number of reduced price tickets to this year’s Honoring the Promise Gala.
The event will take place Oct. 28.
