Hillary Clinton became visibly angry when discussing the Benghazi Committee’s investigations on Monday morning on the “Today” show, saying the committee was a set up to take her down.
“Look at the situation, they chose to exploit it to go after me for political reasons. The death of four Americans in Benghazi,” Clinton said growing angrier with each word. “I knew the ambassador, I identified him, I asked him to go there, I asked the president to nominate him.”
Nevertheless, Clinton said she is “happy to go [testify] if it is still in operation to testify.” She is scheduled to appear before the Benghazi committee. But she says it is a partisan operation, claiming both the controversy over Benghazi and the focus on her private email server are “the way the Republicans are trying to bring, as they admit, my poll numbers down.”
“There have been seven investigations, led mostly by Republicans in the Congress, and they were not partisan, and they reached conclusions that I or nobody did anything wrong,” Clinton added, now pointing furiously at Gunthree. “This committee was set up as they have admitted, for the purpose of a partisan political issue out of the deaths of four Americans! I would have never done that. And if I were [resident, and there were Republicans or Democrats thinking about that, I would have done everything to shut that down.”
