It’s not nearly as exciting as getting a tattoo while off-roading, but “Jackass” cast member Steve-O has joined the growing list of celebrities recruited by pro-vegan group, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, to lobby for chimpanzees. He wrote a letter, dated for next week, to Sen. Barbara Boxer asking her to move the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act through the committee she chairs, the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
“Many people know me as’ the guy who intentionally harmed himself over and over on the show Jackass,” Steve-O wrote. “But I am actually very Serious about some things-including protecting chimpanzees and other animals from being intentionally harmed.”
