Clinton: Trump ‘great at innuendo and conspiracy theories’

In just her third televised sit-down interview since joining the presidential race in April, Hillary Clinton said GOP front-runner Donald Trump is “great at innuendo and conspiracy theories and really defaming people.”

“I think its an unfortunate development in American politics that his campaign is all about who he is against, whether its immigrants or women broadcasters or aides of other candidates,” she told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell. “He is the candidate of being against, the vision I have of America is how we come to together, how we work together, how we set goals again.”

Clinton is currently mired in her lowest favorability ratings in 23 years, according to a Gallup poll released Friday. Only 41 percent of Americans view her favorably, whereas 51 percent hold an unfavorable view of the Democratic front-runner. Democratic challenger Bernie Sanders has eclipsed her in New Hampshire and is gaining ground in Iowa.

“Clinton’s deflated favorable rating reflects the challenging political environment she has faced recently,” Gallup reported in a statement accompanying the poll. “Her use of a private server and email account as secretary of state remains an ongoing controversy and has prompted congressional and FBI investigations.”

When asked about Joe Biden possibly jumping into the race, Clinton said it is a “very personal decision” for the vice president and he should be given space to make it. She praised Biden as a great vice president, but said a debate between them would begin if he ran.
