The mustache lobby covets Ron Paul endorsement

He may be a clean-shaven American, but the mustache lobby is still hoping to get support from Rep. Ron Paul. Folks representing the American Mustache Institute visited Paul at a recent campaign stop and asked the Texas Congressman if he supported their landmark legislation — the STACHE Act, or the Stimulus To Allow for Critical Hair Expenses, which would give mustached Americans a $250 tax deduction for grooming. Paul barely heard the question and gave a slight wave, which the AMI interpreted as a ringing endorsement. “He didn’t actually say it, but he gave us a sort of thumbs up as he was walking by,” explained the AMI’s Dan Callahan. No matter. The American Mustache Institute proudly announced Monday that Paul was on their side, while the Paul campaign did not return our request for comment.
