Donald Trump led the crowd in a chant of “No More Oreos!” while speaking about Nabisco’s decision to move their production from Chicago to Mexico at a rally on Thursday.
“I love the Mexican people, I love them. But their leaders are killing us at the border, they’re killing us on trade,” Trump said in Las Vegas. “Nabisco is moving into Mexico with their big plant from Chicago. Which means, what? No more Oreos! No more Oreos!
Trump laughed as the crowd picked up Trump’s chant continuing, “No More Oreos! No more Oreos!”
“Ah, it’s going to be tough getting off Oreos. Well, I never liked Mexican water to be honest with you, so I probably wont eat them anyway,” Trump continued. “I don’t want Oreos made in Mexico. Right? So it’s good well stay away from Oreos, one thing we don’t have to eat.”
Nabisco moved its production from Illinois to Mexico in September of 2015, moving 1,200 jobs along with them. On the campaign trail, Trump often complains that too many American jobs are being outsourced to foreign countries such as Mexico and China.
Later in his speech, the GOP front-runner called two police officers on stage to commend them for their good work.
“The police all over the country they are great people … get up here, I’m going to make you a star,” Trump said, calling the officers on stage.
“The police are great people but they’ve been abused. We got to let them do their job. You’ll always have a problem and you’ll always have the bad apple and that’ll be on television for two weeks and everyone will talk,” Trump added, referring to controversies about law enforcement treatment of African-Americans.
He continued, “We have to respect our police and everybody has to respect law and order, without that we don’t have a country.”
