Trump: New York Jets could’ve made playoffs if owner didn’t back Jeb

If the owner of the New York Jets had supported Donald Trump’s White House bid, chances are his team would’ve made the NFL playoffs. At least, that’s what Trump himself believes.

A short-lived period of peace between Trump and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush came to an end Monday when the Republican presidential front-runner suggested Jets owner Woody Johnson, who serves as the finance chairman of Bush’s presidential campaign, could have walked away victorious from his team’s latest game Sunday if he’d supported Trump.

The Jets were defeated 22-17 by the Buffalo Bills Sunday, marking their fifth consecutive year of failing to make the playoffs. The nail-biting game ended with the Jets throwing three interceptions in the fourth quarter.

Despite his taunting of Woody Monday, Trump has previously said the two men are “good friends.”
