Donald Trump blasted Republican rivals Ben Carson and Sen. Marco Rubio on their immigration stances Tuesday morning during an appearance on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends.”
“Ben is very weak on immigration,” Trump said. “Rubio is horrible on immigration.”
In a handful of recent polls, Carson has threatened Trump’s national lead for the first time in the Republican primary.
“Ben can’t do the job. He’s not going to be able to negotiate with China,” Trump said. “It’s not in his wheelhouse.”
“I beat China all the time,” Trump added.
On the Democratic side, Trump said Sen. Bernie Sanders’ surge is “over” because he “gave up” an advantage over Clinton when he dismissed concerns about her private emails in the first Democratic debate.
Trump said he expects to face Clinton if he becomes the Republican nominee for president, unless she gets indicted.
His appearance Tuesday was the second of the morning, coming after he sat for an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” The media blitz was part of an effort to promote his new book, Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again.
