President Obama spent some time in Los Angeles on Tuesday, but before leaving for his next stop in San Francisco, he got together with some heavy Hollywood hitters for an undisclosed morning meeting at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the meeting included some of the entertainment industry’s top names, including Weinstein Co. studio chief Harvey Weinstein, ICM president Chris Silbermann, Atlantic Records chairman Craig Kallman, Island Def Jam vice president Karen Kwak, actor/activist Kal Penn and others. One source at the meeting said the affair was very casual — not a fundraiser or a drive for pledged donations — but that Obama spoke for 25 to 30 minutes to urge the group to use their influence with the Hollywood community and general public to help his reelection effort.
