Cruz PAC ad: Rubio looks good on TV, ‘but that’s about it’

A super PAC allied with Ted Cruz is calling into question Marco Rubio’s credentials as a conservative with a new ad that reminds viewers that Rubio was once an advocate of comprehensive immigration reform.

The Courageous Conservatives PAC lauds Rubio’s deft handling of rival Jeb Bush, but says other than that and his support for immigration reform, there’s not much else to the Florida senator.

“What’s Rubio ever done? Anything at all? Anything at all besides amnesty?” the voiceover for the ad asks. “After Sandy Hook, Ted Cruz stopped Obama’s push for new gun control laws. Obama’s plan to stop Israel flights amounted to an economic boycott. Ted Cruz stopped it.”

“We all loved how Marco Rubio took apart Jeb Bush in the debate,” the ad concedes, but then finishes with: “Marco Rubio looks good on TV, but that’s about it.”

According to the Federal Elections Commission, Courageous Conservatives is smaller than Cruz’s other PACs, with about $5,000 to its name. It is based out of Kansas City.
