Animation designer Eugeniy Yelchin is following up his recent Oscar win for best animated featured film with a more, uh, politically themed project. The logic-defying new short film features a trio of singing and dancing dogs, including Barack Obama’s pup Bo, Vladmir Putin’s pet Buffy, and some dog from the slums of Johannesburg. In the animated portions of the film, the three “Super-Doggies” don jeans and stiletto boots and dance to an original song. (Sample lyrics: “Listen to your heart/Now tell me how it sounds/Now walk like a king with a crown.”) An animated Obama and Putin also appear in the video, grinning and scowling respectively.
The Super-Doggies supposedly will embark on a world tour of holographic dancing this year, timed to the U.S. and Russian national elections.
